Community Engagement

Invitation to apply for Metro’s Riders’ Advisory Council (RAC). These are volunteer opportunities for engagement in transit decision-making and ensure that more voices are heard.  Metro (WMATA) is inviting citizens to apply for a voluntary advisory council that advises the Metro Board of Directors on issues affecting Metrobus, Metrorail and MetroAccess service.  If you or anyone you know is interested, please apply using the information is on the attached pages and also available at http://www.wmata.com/about_metro/riders_advisory_council/ The deadline for applications is 5 pm on Friday, November 7th.                  

        

Digital Access

Join us at The Washington Post on September 22, 2014 for a dynamic discussion with top thinkers on digital inclusion, economic development and public-private partnerships.           The forum will bring together approximately 150 policymakers, program administrators, educators, researchers, residents, business and community leaders and other stakeholders in the DC area to discuss best practices and offer engaging insight into our future city.

1. There are still spots open in our Veterans First program for rapid rehousing.  There is a wait list for prevention money but veterans can call to get in the list .

Veterans can not have a dishonorable discharge and must be 50% AMI or below.

We are especially like female veterans, veterans with children, and Iraq/Afghanistan veterans to apply.
